E-THERM - High velocity premix burners
E-THERM are premixed gas burners for direct heating. The shape of the silicon carbide flame tube produces a tense flame which allows for high heat penetration and better temperature uniformity inside the combustion chamber, due to the high velocity of the combustion products.
Description
The E‑THERM E3160 series is a family of high velocity premix gas burners designed for industrial direct‑heating applications. Engineered for precision, safety, and efficiency, these burners deliver a tight, high‑speed flame generated through a silicon‑carbide flame tube, ensuring high heat penetration and uniform temperature distribution inside the combustion chamber. Their premix design minimizes unburned products and reduces excess air requirements, making them suitable for processes requiring controlled atmospheres and low CO/NOx emissions.
The high velocity premix burners operate with natural gas, LPG, or other special gases on request, and tolerate air preheating up to 450°C. Available in four models—300T, 450T, 750T, and 1000T—they offer capacities from 300 to 1000 kW, flame velocities between 100 and 150 m/s, and excess air capability up to 400%. Their construction includes a cast‑iron mixer body, stainless‑steel proportional elements and flanges, silicon‑carbide refractory components, and optional water‑cooling for high‑temperature environments (above 1300°C).
Ignition occurs via a high‑voltage electrode, with flame detection performed by a UV‑2 sensor (both optional). A pilot burner can also be supplied. The burner features separated air and gas feeds, preventing backfire and ensuring stable operation.
Typical applications include vertical copper‑melting furnaces, copper holding furnaces, billet-heating furnaces, and atmosphere‑controlled furnaces.
A comprehensive maintenance plan covers scheduled replacement of electrodes, gaskets, photocell components, refractory elements, and regular repetition of burner‑setting procedures. Dimensional drawings and ordering codes conclude the document, providing configuration options for fuel type, gas adjuster, ignition system, and flange type.
