AB & ABM - Ribbon linear flame burners
The RIBBON AB & ABM are linear flame premix burners, used in low temperature applications. The particular shape of the RLF (Ribbon Linear Flame) ensures excellent flame stability even in combustion chambers with internal recirculation. The AB series must be connected to an air/gas mixer which guarantees the correct combustion ratio. The ABM series incorporate an air/gas mixer inside the furnace wall support flange.
Description
The AB and ABM series are premixed ribbon linear flame burners developed by ESA‑Pyronics for low‑temperature industrial thermal processes up to 350 °C. Designed for stable and uniform linear flames, these burners are particularly suitable for applications requiring even heat distribution in food Industry, such as direct fired industrialfurnaces, food cooking furnaces, packaging equipment, flame screens, and brazing machines.
The AB ribbon linear flame burners series requires an external air/gas mixer, while the ABM series integrates the mixer directly into the furnace wall support flange. The ABM mixing flange has been registered as utility mode N° 259843 and allows compact installation and simplified system design. Both series can be customized in geometry, flame length, and power according to customer requirements.
Burners operate with natural gas, LPG, in the range from 10 to 70 kW, with linear power outputs depending on ribbon width and operating temperature. Flame stability is ensured by the ribbon linear flame (RLF) design, which performs well even in combustion chambers with internal recirculation. Maximum recommended air velocity in the burner tube is 5 m/s to ensure correct operation.
Ignition is achieved by high‑voltage electrode, with standard mono‑electrode flame detection; separate detection electrodes or UV detectors are available on request. Safety devices and certified burner management systems are strongly recommended, especially for applications below 750 °C, in accordance with ISO 13577 (previously UNI EN 746‑2)
The burners can be installed in any orientation, including downward‑facing flames. The ABM series allows multiple configurations for flame direction (left, right, or upward) and gas inlet position, which can be modified during installation by trained personnel. Versions with single zone, three zones, or packaged solutions with blower are available.
In the bullettin you will find also details ignition procedures, power modulation guidelines, maintenance plans, and dimensional drawings. All products comply with relevant European directives, including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE, and are manufactured under ISO 9001 certified quality management.
