PSLT & PSHT - Burner inspection peepsights

PSLT & PSHT are spy eyes that allow visual feedback on the state of the burner flame. The suffixes LT and HT (Low /High Temperature) indicate that the peephole is intended for low or high temperature applications.

Description

The PSLT and PSHT series by ESA‑Pyronics are specialized burner inspection peepsights designed to allow direct visual inspection of burner flames or combustion chambers. Their purpose is to give operators a reliable way to assess flame presence, quality, and stability in any combustion setup. The two product lines differ mainly in their thermal resistance: PSLT (Low Temperature) peepsights are intended for applications up to 120 °C, while PSHT (High Temperature) versions are built for operating conditions up to 480 °C and pressures up to 3.5 bar.

PSLT burner inspection peepsights are constructed using a brass body with Pyrex glass (approximately 3 mm thick) and include fasit‑oil and EPDM gaskets to ensure sealing. They are meant for areas where temperature exposure remains relatively low and where periodic checking of burner flame is required. In contrast, PSHT peepsights are designed with a high‑temperature‑resistant AVP body, Pyrex glass, and AFM34 high‑temperature gaskets. They also include a ¼” socket for cooling air, ensuring safe operation in demanding thermal environments. All components in the PSHT series are rated to withstand high pressure and temperature stresses.

Both types can be installed in any position or orientation. Installation requires applying sealing paste to the threads when used in fuel‑gas or premixture lines. PSLT models cannot be repaired; if damaged, they must be completely replaced. PSHT models, however, allow limited maintenance: operators can remove the rear collar, check and replace gaskets, and change the Pyrex glass.

Applications include any type of flame inspection point on industrial burners or combustion chambers, especially where immediate visual assessment is required. PSLT is ideal for low‑temperature monitoring points, while PSHT is suited for high‑temperature industrial systems such as furnaces, kilns, and high‑pressure combustion lines.

The product range includes several dimensional variants, covering thread sizes from G 3/8” to G 1½” for PSLT and from G ¾” to G 2” for PSHT, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of burner models and inspection ports.
