EPB - Packaged modulant burners
The EPB are packaged – monoblock free flame gas burners supplied with combustion air fan, gas line and controls to meet EN746:2. They allow excess air, stoichiometric and excess gas adjustments. Depending on the size and conditions of use, they can be used for the combustion of natural gas and LPG (in the standard version) and other types of gaseous fuels with different calorific powers (special versions on request).
Description
EPB burners are metallic packaged modulant gas burners for direct heating, designed for industrial applications such as ceramic kilns, tunnel furnaces, dryers, textile machines, stress-relieving and melting furnaces. They allow excess air and gas settings, ensuring operational flexibility. Compatible with natural gas and LPG (standard version) and other gases upon request.
Key features: capacity from 150 to 1500 kW, max temperature 1000°C, air/gas pressure 30 mbar, flow ratio up to 1:10 (BIAS effect), flame speed 50–60 m/s, CO emissions <10 ppm @3% O₂, excess air up to 1000%. The EPB packaged modulant gas burners materials are: mixer body and gas collector in cast iron G25, baffle tube and combustion head in AISI304/AISI310.
Ignition is via high-voltage discharge electrodes; flame detection by electrode or UV barrier. Flame control systems are strongly recommended for applications below 750°C. EPB burners are “nozzle mix” type, mixing fuel and air at the head to prevent backfires.
Installation: flange mounting, gas connections with expansion joints, high-voltage cables unshielded and proper grounding required. Maintenance includes electrode checks, blower filter cleaning, and pressure switch testing; extraordinary maintenance involves gasket replacement and calibration.
Certifications: compliant with EU Directives 2006/42/EC and 2004/108/EC, UNI EN 746-2:2010, and ISO 9001. With robust design and adjustable settings, EPB burners ensure efficiency, safety, and low emissions for industrial thermal processes.
