VMR - Rapid opening and closing solenoid valves

The VMR type solenoid valve is a single-stage electromagnetic valve, with quick opening and closing, normally closed, in accordance with the UNI EN 161 standard.

Description

The VMR series is a family of single‑stage, rapid opening and closing solenoid valves, normally closed, intended for gas and air interception in combustion systems. They comply with UNI EN 161, Class A, Group 2, with CE certification 0063AQ1350. Typical applications include gas interception on decompression lines, air/gas shutoff for burners, and management of special gases such as biogas and COG (Coke Oven Gas).

VMR rapid opening and closing solenoid valves operate with working pressures of 200 or 360 mbar, depending on model, with fluid temperatures below 40°C. They support adjustable flow (0–100%), have supply voltages of 110/230 V 50/60 Hz, with optional 12/24 VAC/DC, and voltage tolerance between −15% and +10%. They feature extremely fast actuation (<1 s for opening and closing), 360° coil orientation, IP54 protection, integrated dust filter, and optional limit switches.

Materials include aluminum, brass, and steel valve bodies, and sealing components in PTFE, NBR, and FPM. When the coil is de‑energized, a spring keeps the valve closed with intrinsic safety, aided by upstream gas pressure; when energized, the valve opens quickly. Flow can be fine‑adjusted through a dedicated screw located under the coil cap.

Installation requirements include avoiding heat radiation, checking line pressure, respecting flow direction, ensuring clean and aligned piping, maintaining space for coil removal, and never installing the valve with the coil facing downward. Threaded and flanged mounting procedures are detailed, including correct sealing and bolt-tightening practices.

Maintenance includes annual checks of gasket and thread integrity, valve movement, bolt tightening, and internal cleaning. Extraordinary maintenance includes coil replacement, gasket renewal, dust filter cleaning, and internal component inspection—always with gas and power disconnected.
