VL-2R-HP - Modulant regulation valves

The VL-2R-HP are a series of valves for regulating the flow of fluids in both high and low pressure pipelines. They are used to regulate the fuel and oxidising flow rates as well as to choke them.

Description

The VL‑2R‑HP series is a family of modulating control valves designed for precision regulation of gas and air flow in industrial combustion systems. These valves operate in both low- and high‑pressure ducts and are suitable for non‑aggressive gases according to EN 437, including natural gas, air, and LPG. They perform modulation and partialization functions but are not safety shutoff devices, and therefore must not be used for fuel interception according to ISO 13577 ( EN 746‑2).

Constructed with high‑quality materials such as carbon steel or AISI 316 stainless steel for the body, AISI 316 ball and shaft, and TFM 1600 sealing, the valves ensure long durability, low leakage (<0.1%), and reliable operation under temperatures ranging from −20°C to +60°C. They are available in sizes DN15 to DN150 (PN16) with a rotation angle of 0–90°. Connection is via ISO 7005 PN16 flanges.

The valves can be equipped with two main actuator configurations:

CMAP electric actuator (motorized modulation),

CPAP electro‑pneumatic actuator with analog feedback and positioner.

The manual provides detailed flow‑rate charts for air, natural gas, and LPG, along with formulas to calculate flow for other gases based on density corrections. Sizing guidelines include limits on pipeline velocity (recommended <20 m/s) and the correct Δp proportion for optimal control (25–30% of inlet pressure).

Installation requires alignment of flanges, cleanliness of internal parts, proper bolt‑tightening sequences, and sufficient straight pipe sections before and after the valve. Maintenance includes periodic checks of gasket integrity, bolt torque, calibration verification, internal cleaning, and actuator servicing according to documentation.

Overall, the VL‑2R‑HP valves offer robust, precise, high‑performance modulation for combustion applications, supported by ESA’s ISO 9001‑certified quality system and extensive technical documentation.
