DPG-E - Portable differential pressure gauge
ESA DPG-E is a portable microprocessor differential pressure gauge equipped with a liquid crystal display. Its ergonomic design has been conceived to facilitate field measurement operations on industrial plants.
Description
The ESA DPG‑E is a portable, microprocessor‑based differential pressure gauge designed for field use in industrial combustion and process plants. Equipped with a dual liquid‑crystal display and an ergonomic, lightweight structure (155×122×29 mm; 350 g), it enables accurate measurement of differential and relative pressure, chimney draft, duct airspeed through Pitot tubes, and flow calculations when used with calibrated orifice plates.
It operates with all non‑aggressive gases and offers a nominal measuring range from –100 to +200 mbar, with a maximum applicable pressure of 500 mbar. Measurement accuracy varies by range, remaining below 1% of full scale, with granular precision: ±0.1 mbar within 0–30 mbar, ±0.2 mbar within 30–100 mbar, and ±0.3 mbar within 100–200 mbar. The instrument is powered by two AA batteries (3 Vdc), features a low‑battery indication, and operates between 0 and 50°C. It has an IP40 protection rating and must not be used in explosive or corrosive environments.
The DPG‑E includes two operating modes: Automode for live readings and flow calculations, and Program mode for configuring parameters. Up to four calibrated orifices can be programmed via reference pressure and flow values, with temperature compensation available for the fourth orifice. The device supports multiple pressure units (mbar, kPa, mmH₂O, inH₂O) and flow units (Nm³/h or cfm). Pressure zeroing can be performed in Automode to remove sensor drift.
The DATA menu allows configuration of Auto‑Off timer, unit selection, and digital filtering for pressure readings. A password‑protected PASS menu is reserved for calibration by authorized ESA technicians.
Maintenance consists of routine zero‑pressure checks, annual calibration comparison with a reference instrument, and battery replacement when indicated. The device complies with ISO 13577 (UNI EN 746‑2:2010), Machine Directive 2006/42/CE, EMC and ESD standards (EN61000‑4‑2, EN50081‑1, EN50082‑1), ISO 9001 certification, and EAC requirements for the Eurasian market.
