PT II - Flow and pressure transmitter

ESA PT-II is a device with display, transmitter and totalizer functions, microprocessor transducer, receiver of positive or negative differential pressures and transmitter of current signals which can be sent via two-wire connection to other remote equipment.

Description

The ESA PT‑II is a microprocessor-based differential pressure and flow-rate transmitter designed for advanced industrial combustion control and monitoring. It functions simultaneously as a differential or relative pressure indicator, temperature indicator, flow meter with automatic temperature and pressure compensation, current-signal transmitter (0–20 mA or 4–20 mA), and totalizer. Through a two‑wire transmission system, it can interface with remote devices such as electronic pressure regulators, flow regulators, pressure switches, flow indicators, counters, and PLC-based supervision systems.

The instrument accepts differential pressure inputs across multiple selectable ranges (from ±10 mmH₂O to 0–300 mbar), thermocouple inputs (type J or K), and optional current input via the EXP‑C expansion card. A wide variety of process variables can be displayed on its dual LED interface: differential pressure, temperature, instantaneous flow (Nm³/h or cfm), totalized flow, auxiliary inputs, and transmitted signal. Temperature and pressure compensation ensure precise flow measurement across fluctuating process conditions.

The ESA PT‑II offers programmable parameters via a structured menu system: PT menu for measurement and output configuration, COMM menu for Modbus‑RTU serial communication settings, PROT.PRG menu for display filtering, units, and access protection, and HARDWARE menu for sensor configuration, offsets, and calibration of the analogue output stages. The device supports RS‑485 serial communication with configurable baud rates (2.4 to 19.2 kbps), selectable resolution (Full, Int, Fint), and up to 254 addressable nodes.

Installation requires vertical mounting, correct electrical wiring, proper thermocouple and pressure tubing connections, and adherence to environmental limits. Maintenance includes checking case sealing, cable integrity, zero‑pressure settings, and calibration verification. The ESA PT‑II is certified to comply with ISO 13577 (UNI EN 746‑2:2010), the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE, ISO 9001, and EU directives for Low Voltage, EMC, and RoHS. It is patented under number 1268539.
