ESA ESTRO is a microprocessor operated industrial burner control device that controls gas and oil fired burners for continuous operation. This device safely controls one or two stage burners (pilot and main), combustion air, and is able to detect the flame signal via ionisation sensors (electrodes) or UV radiation (UV-scan), continuously performing a periodic check of the flame sensor. The flame control device is equipped with a serial communication which allows remote burner control. The case is robust allowing the application of the control device near the burner.


Description

ESA ESTRO  is an advanced electronic burner control unit for industrial furnaces’ burners, designed to ensure safety, reliability, and flexibility in combustion applications. Based on a microprocessor, the device manages gas or oil burners, either single-stage or two-stage (pilot and main), with continuous or non-permanent operation. It complies with European standards EN298 and ISO 13577 (old EN746-2) and international safety directives, guaranteeing safe use in industrial thermal plants.

The system controls the entire burner ignition cycle, including blower, air and gas valves, pressure switches, and flow sensors. Flame detection is performed via ionization electrodes or UV sensors (UV-Scan), with automatic periodic checks to ensure maximum safety. Thanks to integrated serial communication (ECS and Modbus-RTU), ESA ESTRO enables remote monitoring and management of the burner, providing information on operating status and flame signal values.

The burner control unit is housed in a robust thermoset enclosure with IP54 protection rating, suitable for installation in non-explosive industrial environments. It supports 115/230 Vac power supply and offers a wide range of customizable configurations via dedicated software or portable programmer. Advanced features include air management for purge and cooling, high-temperature control according to EN746-2, automatic reignition cycles, and expansion options for fieldbus interfaces (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet), digital and analog I/O.
