EMM & EMMTR - Venturi proportional mixers

The EMMs are a family of aluminum “Venturi” effect mixers for air and gas with proven reliability. EMMTRs identify the same mixers when they are integrated into a pre-assembled and pre-sized “mixing unit”, including the air and gas lines, the stabilizers, the shut-off and regulating valves and the loading line.

Description

EMM mixers are aluminum Venturi‑type proportional air‑gas mixers, while EMMTR units include a complete adjustment group. Air flowing through the Venturi throat generates a vacuum that aspirates the gas, maintaining a stable air‑gas ratio over a wide flow range as long as gas pressure remains constant. A micrometric valve allows precise gas regulation, and total mixture output is controlled through a single valve on the air line, which can be motorized for automatic control. EMMTR assemblies include a zerogovernor that keeps gas at atmospheric pressure throughout the operating range. Typical turn‑down ratio is 3:1, expandable when using BZR regulators for multiple‑mixer systems.
Applications include pilot burners and premix burners up to 40 kW. Air and gas inlets are separate and adjustable, with a maximum operating pressure of 500 mbar and maximum fluid temperature of 60°C. EMM mixers can be installed in any position, whereas EMMTR units require the zerogovernor membrane to remain horizontal. Installation requires proper pipe alignment, suitable thread sealers, clean internal components and minimal pressure drops on mixture piping (below 0.2 mbar/m).
Routine maintenance includes yearly inspection of thread integrity, internal component cleaning using compressed air, and reassembly according to installation rules. All actions must be performed with the system shut down and by qualified personnel, respecting all relevant safety regulations.
